Snorkelling and Boat Rental

Top of my list of things to do before I leave the BVI was to rent a boat and go snorkeling. That was achieved today. Rented a Rib with Nicki (whom I met when I flew into the BVI) and spent the day pottering around the islands. Didn't know those things could do 30 knots (felt like a Winston Boy running around the islands on a Rib!)

Good snorkeling and had lunch and the infamous Willie-T floating pub, also on my To Do list. Don't know what happened to the partying, topless-sometimes naked- girls & body-shot crowd that normally frequents this locale, weren't there when we were around :(

Norman Island Caves

Also on my to do before I leave the BVI was a snorkel into the Norman Island Caves. these are three caves which you can snorkel into. Fairly impressive when you are in them and good thing is that there is some nice healthy coral growing inside them as well!

Barracuda!

These prehistoric looking fish are four to five foot long and today a couple of them kept a very close eye on us! Nasty set of teeth, fortunately I don't think that they have ever attacked a human... I think.... I hope!

Salt Island

One of the islands which I keep passing on the dive boat but have never stepped foot on is Salt Island.

With only one inhabitant left (and we saw him), its name if fairly descriptive of what it stands for, there is no more salt mining that takes place except for the bag of salt that is sent to Her Majesty every year... see posts on RMS Rhone for the history of that one! So this time I decided to go there and have a look for myself.

Upside down reflections

Was fascinated today about how the underside of the surface creates a reflection of its own. Here are some early attempts at making this work. I think they make nice creations.
